Admission Rule

Application form for admission in to the college for Bachelors Degree in ARTS/SCIENCE/COMMERCE with Hons in ARTS- POL SC/ HISTORY/ ECONOMICS/ENGLISH/ODIA/ PHILOSOPHY/EDUCATION/JMC. Hons in SCIENCE- PHYSICS/ELCTRONICS/CHEMISTRY /MATHEMATICS /BOTANY /ZOOLOGY and Hons in Commerce- SPECIALISED ACCOUNTANCY. The application form can be made available only after the Advertisement by the DHE- ODISHA SAMS WEBSITE- dheorissa.in. The Selection of candidates for admission into the above courses is made by the SAMS, DHE, ODISHA.

 

(E-Admission) (+2 CLASSES)

i)   Vide order No. 6626 / Dated 22.02.2011, of the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Orissa, E-admission has been introduced in 109 Degree Colleges under Student Academic Management System (SAMS) from the Academic Session 2011-2012, This college has adopted e-admission process for Ist year Degree Students from 2011-12 session. Rules and guidelines have been framed by the Department of Higher Education. Accordingly, students can take part through e-admission process. They are required to submit their Common Application Form at e-Admission cell of the college on the basis of the publication of merit list regulated by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha, Students an take admission to different Ist year classes (+3) as per the notified dates.

ii)   Admission into different classes of the college cannot be , claimed as a matter of right. The Principal reserves the right to refuse or cancel any admission without assigning any reason for it.

iii)   Admission into different classes begins after the publication of the concerned results of the Board/Council/University examination.

iv)   The names of selected candidates shall be notified on the college notice board regarding their selection, date of admission and allotted subject / group as mentioned in the CAF (Common Application Form).

v)   Admission into different classes shall be regulated through an Admission Committee. The Committee shall adhere to the instructions of the Govt. of Orissa issued from time to time.

vii)   A failed / discontinued candidate cannot claim admission into / the same class for the second time.

viii)   Selection of Honors seats shall be made after the Balance Seat (Spot) admission. The students are to specify their choices in the application form itself.

ix)   Students of other University/Board are to submit an undertaking to the effect that they have passed so and so examination conducted by University/Board (name to be mentioned) and the provisional Certificate, Migration Certificate, shall be produced at the time of admission into +2 or +3 class (to be mentioned) in this college, affiliated to B.U./CHSE Odisha.

RESERVATION OF SEATS & ADDITIONAL WEIGHTAGE FOR (+3) & (+2) STREAMS :-

The detailed Reservation of Seats and Additional Weight age for the applicants of +3 & +2 Classes shall be given as per the common prospectus of the Department of Higher Education, Odisha, under (SAMS).

CRITERIA FOR HONOURS SELECTION:

i)There is no reservation of seats for Honours subjects.

ii)Selection of Honours subjects shall be made after the last date of admission (balance seat spot admission) is over as per the preference given by the students in the C.A.F. The selection will be made through a counselling process on the basis of merit.

iii)In case of all subjects of Honours selection, the merit list shall be prepared taking into account the subject marks and the aggregate marks without extra optional subject together / except the following subject, for which specific rules have been followed :

a) Students passing +2 Arts/Science/Commerce and offering Honours in Arts/Commerce faculty in such subjects which was not a combination in +2 Examination, his/her subject mark would be the English mark, where minimum 40% marks should be secured and then the same mark is to be added to the aggregate mark without extra optional to obtain the Honours merit mark and to be filled in the regular honours merit list accordingly.

b)For Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics Hons. :
For Example: For physics Hons. the subject marks, the Mathematics mark and the MPC aggregate marks, without E.O.M. shall be taken together for preparing the merit list.
c)For Botany / Zoology Hons. :
The marks secured in Biology should be added to BPC aggregate marks without extra optional for preparing the merit list.

d) For Oriya Hons. : In case of a student who does not have Oriya as an optional subject in +2 stage, the marks secured in M.I.L. (Oriya) will be added to the aggregate marks without E.O.M.

e) In no case Honours shall be allotted to a student in +3 Il yr. and / +3 III yr. class, even if seats are lying vacant except on transfer basis.

f) In all matters relating to the admission the decision of the Principal shall be final.

g) Counseling for +3 1st year students shall be conducted soon after the admission process is completed.

(e-Admission) (+2 CLASSES)

The Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, has introduced the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) during the academic session 2009-2010 to ensure a single window system for admission to +2 classes through e-admission process. From 2010-11 academic session. This college (Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja (Junior) college) has been selected as one of the SAMS Centers.

Objectives of SAMS:

  • *    Single window system for admission through e-admission.
  • *    Make the admission economical for the parents/applicants.
  • *    To make it transparent from application to admission.
  • *    Reduce the college work by initiating different Database Management.

 

E-Admission:

The e-admission process aims at to use information technology to process the application for admission under this system the students/parents have to apply through on-line in any one of the SAMS college to get admission to any stream of any of their choice.
Common Prospects (C.P):
The CP is available in the higher Education website as www.dheorissa.in a downloadable format to take a print.
i) The 1st part of the CP exhibits the detailed features of e-admission as guideline.
ii) The 2nd part of the CP contains the different college profiles with ist code numbers, stream-wis seat availability, subject, elective combinations, hostel, fee structure etc.

Common Application Form (CAF)

The CAF will be available in the website www.dheorissa.in. Applicants shall have to follow the guidelines before filling up the form. The parent / applicant have to fill up the CAF only through online, take a print of this online filled CAF as COLLEGE COPY and another copy as applicant copy and submit it in any SAMS college after depositing the prescribed fees.

The other guidelines relating to e-admission, how to fill up the CAF & apply to the preferred colleges, fees structure, date of admission, application process etc. are available in the common prospectus (CP) in the website www.dheorise.in.
 

Date of Annual Admission :

i) Higher Secondary Courses (+2)
E-Admission dates are to be notified by the Director, Higher Education, Orissa for the SAM colleges for the admission of +2 1st year Students.

The date of admission into +2nd year classes will be notified by the principal after re-opening of the college closed for summer vacation.

ii) Three Year Degree Courses (+3)

E-Admission for First Year Degree Students will be governed by the guidelines issued by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Orissa.
The dates of admission into Second Year & Third Year Degree Classes will be notified by the principal after re-opening of the college closed for summer vacation.

DATE OF SUPPL./ INSTANT ADMISSION

A student who has passed Supplementary HSC Examination will take admission in +2 First Year Classes under e-admission procedure for which the dates will be notified by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Orissa.
Students passing in instant Examination conducted by CHSE, Orissa will take admission in +3 First Year Classes under e-admission procedure for which the dates will be as notified by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Orissa.

Change of Subject / Group / Faculty

In exceptional cases the Principal may allow a student for such change only within two weeks of closure of admission on payment of requisite fees, provided seats are available in those /subjects/groups/faculty.
