Army Wing
The N.C.C in Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja College. Bhanjanagar has one Infantry Unit (boys & girls) under 2 (O) Bn.N.C.C:, Berhampur.


Enrolment in N.C.C. is done in August every year. It is open to all students .of +3 classes (Ist year). Selection for enrollment are made strictly on the basis of physical and medical fitness. Enrollment forms can be obtained from N.C.C. office or N.C.C. officer, as and when notified.


The training is spread over within 90-120 periods in different years from August to February. Infantry training consists of Foot Drill, Weapon Training, Field Craft, Map Reading. Organization of Armed Force, Civil Defense, First Aid, Military History and Geography. Social service such as Tree plantation, Adoption of a village for its all round development, Blood donation and Literacy Drive are also taken up by cadets.


An N.C.C. Cadet has to attend at least one camp in each training year to be eligible to appear Certificate Examination. The camp may be Annual Training Camp, (inside Orissa), or Basic Leadership Camp, Advance Leadership Camp, Army Attachment Camp, All India Summer Training Camp, Thal Sena Camp and Republic day Camp (all outside Orissa), Special Adventure Camps such as Trekking Camps, Para-sailing Camp, Cycle expedition, Moped expedition and Rock climbing camp are also held every year .

Advantage of N.C.C. Training :

As per the revised NCC course curriculum 2013, a Cadet has to complete the entire course within 3 years. Accordingly a Cadet has to appear the certificate ‘B’ examination during 2nd year of training and 'C' Examination at the end of 3rd year of training.
N.C.C. Certificate holders are given extra percentage of marks during admission into medical/engineering/veterinary/agriculture in the state. Cadets with 'C' Certificates have reserved quotas in the following services.

1. Armed Forces
2. State Police
3. State/Central Excise
4. C.R.P.F.
5. Indo Tibetan Border police
6. Border Security Force
7. State/Central Forest Depts.
8. Industrial Security Forces etc.

NCC Naval Wing
This wing has started in the college from September 2012. The enrollment of students (both boys and girls) in +3 classes is 50 Nos. Selection of student for enrollment is as per the rule of NCC Army Wing.
