Hostel Rules
1.a) "Hostel" means a place of residence for students studying for C.H.S.E / University in accordance with the provision of the Act.
The college hostel named as Chakara Bisoyi Hostel.
b) "Approved Lodging" means lodging periodically inspected by the
Principal on his behalf and included in the Register of the lodgings
maintained by the college and approved by the Syndicate.
2. Students who do not live with their parents or approved
guardians, approved as such by the Principal, shall during the time,
reside in a hostel or in approved lodging identified by the
principal.
3. Students leaving in the Hostel, shall be under the disciplinary
control of the Superintendent of the Hostel. There should be an
Asst. Superintendent to assist the Superintendent Students not
living in hostel, or with parents / guardian shall be assigned to
individual members of the staff for control and supervision unless
exempted by the Principal.
4. The college provides accomodation for about 110 boy students in
the hostel.
5. Admission to the hostel shall be made at the time of admission in
the college. Previous boarders shall also apply for readmission,
within one week or reopening of the college after summer vacation.
The decisions of the Hostel Admission Committee shall be final.
6. No student can be admitted to the Hostel until he is admitted
to the College Roll.
7. The seat shall be alloted to boarder by the Superintendent
subject to the approval of the Principal.
8. Boarders shall not exchange their seats without the knowledge of
the Superintendent.
9. Boarders shall be responsible for"'Drill the furniture and
electrical goods in their room and shall be the able for any loss,
damage done by them. The boarders shall have to make their own
arrangements to replace tubelights / bulbs if damaged.
10. No boarder can leave the hostel after the night fall or during
the study hours and absent himself from the college without prior
permission from the Superintendent immediately.
11. Boarders shall maintain perfect silence during the study hours
and decency and decorum inside and outside the hostel.
12. No meeting can be conducted without consent of the
Superintendent.
13. Boarders are not ordinarily allowed to leave the hostel in the
middle of the session without sufficient reasons there of .
14. No guest shall be entertained In the hostel without prior
permission of the Superintendent.
15. The following study hours for the boarders of the hostel are to
be observed.
a) From July to December
7 A.M. to 9 A.M. & 7 P .M. to 9 P.M.
b) From January to April
7 A.M. to 9 A.M. & 6.30 P .M. to 8.30 P.M.
16. Boarders found guilty of misconduct shall be reported to the
Principal for necessary action.
17. The Superintendent may nominate a senior student as Prefect of
the Hostel who shall be directly responsible to the Superintendent
in the smooth management of the Hostel and the Mess.
18. There shall be no formal study hour on Saturday evening Students
are allowed to spend leisurely each Saturday evening.
19. Boarders shall have to pay the fees in time.
MESS
1. The dues of the mess is to be charged from each boarder of the
Hostel of the time of admission mentioned earlier.
2. Boarders are to pay every month the mess dues as will be charged
from time to time plus seat rent, electric charges and establishment
charges.
3. Mess dues should be paid as and when notified by the
Superintendent in the hostel office failing which tuition fee in the
college will not be accepted. Defaulters shall have to pay necessary
fines.
4. The mess shall be managed in the manner as agreed to be the
boarders and the hostel authorities.
5. Hostel employees shall be under the direct control of
Superintendent and no boarder is allowed to exercise his control
over them directly.
14. ATTENDANCE
1. Every student is required to attend at least 75 percent of the
lectures and 75 percent to the tutorial and practical classes held
in each subject which he takes, in each session. A student may
however appear at University examination in the M.I.L. subject or
AE. for which there is no teaching facility in the college with out
attending any lecture in them. In such cases the student should
intimate the Principal in writing such subject which he intends to
study.
2. In case of illness supported by medical certificates the
University considers applications for the condonation of shortage of
attendance, if the shortage is up to 15 percent.
3. If a student finds that his name has not been entered into the
Attendance Register of any class he/she should bring the matter to
the notice of his/her proctor or Principal in person immediately.
15. STUDENTS' SAFETY INSURANCE SCHEME
The Director Higher Education, BBSR, in his letter No.6M-662/ 18022
dt. 15.4.93 with reference to Go No.5695 dt. 26.2.95 of the Govt.-
of Orissa, has issued instruction regarding the implementation of
compulsory students' Safety Insurance Scheme sponsored by the New
India-Assurance Company Ltd. for students pursuing studies in both
degree and junior colleges, this scheme ensures insurance coverage
for students against death, loss of iimbs, permanent disablement,
loss of toes, hearing, fingers etc.during their studentship, the
premium is fixed at Rs.2/- per annum.
Certain major benefits per student under this scheme are as follows.
1. Death Rs. 10,000
2. Loss of two limbs Rs. 10,000
3. Loss of one limb Rs. 5,000
4. Permanent or Partial disablement Rs. 10,000 |
