iii) Admission
into different classes begins after the publication of the concerned
results of the Board/Council/University examination.
iv) Application for admission shall be made in the prescribed
form-which can be obtained from the college office (counter) by ,
cash payment of Rs.50/- only. It can also be obtained by post on
payment of rupees Rs. 50/- only through crossed Bank draft drawn in
favour of "Principal, K.S.U.B. College, Bhanjanagar" along with a
self addressed envelope of the size 30 X 12 cm affixed with postage
stamp worth Rs. 32/- (Rupees thirty two only) for each application.
Applicant should write his / her own address on the reverse side of
the Bank draft.
v) The completed application shall be received by the college office
within 15 days of publication of result of the qualifying
examination or as stipulated by the Govt. of Orissa.
vi) Applications received after the last date shall be taken as
"Late Application", which may be considered for admission if seats
are available after considering all the applications received before
the last date as notified.
vii) Selected candidates shall be intimated through notice on the
college notice board / U.C.P. regarding their selection, date of
admission and allotted subject / group as mentioned in the
prospectus.
viii) Admission into different classes shall be regulated through an
Admission Committee. The Committee can frame any other rules besides
the existing rules in the calender. However the committee shall
adhere to instructions of the Govt. of Orissa issued from time to
time.
ix) A failed / discontinued candidate cannot claim admission into /
the same class for the second time.
x) Selection of Honours seats shall be made after the last date of
admission. However, the students are to specify their choices (only
two) in the application form itself.
xi) Students of other University/Board are to submit an undertaking
to the effect that they have passed so and so examination conducted
by University/Board (name to be mentioned) and the provisional
Certificate, Migration Certificate, shall be produced at the time of
admission into class (to be mentioned) in this college, affiliated
to B.U./CHSE Orissa.
xii) Postal admission has been adopted by the college for admission
in all courses with effect from 1999-2000 session.
B. Procedure for Postal
Admission
1. a) The completed
application shall be accompanied by Attested /xerox copies of the T
.C. , Mark-sheet of the last examination Conduct Certificate of the
Head of the Institution last attended, NCC/University/State level
certificates for sports (if any), one pass port size recent
photograph duly attested and affixed in the space provided in the
application form, copies of SC/ST certificates, other certificates
claiming privilege for admission money receipt, showing payment of
Rs. 50/- for application form, Identity Card (for old students) and
a self addressed envelope with postage stamp worth of Rs.6/- only.
b) The index card supplied should be self addressed and properly
stamped for postal service.
c) Applications incomplete in any respect shall be rejected.
2. INDEX CARD
Index card will be returned / despatched soon after the receipt of
the application form with a code number. Candidates shall quote the
code number in all correspondence regarding admission.
3. INTIMATION LETTER
Intimation letter shall be sent by U.C.P . only when the applicant
is selected for admission in the Merit list/Waiting list.
4. The selected candidates of merit list/waiting list are required
to send the Intimation letter alongwith documents in original, whose
copies are submitted alongwith application form, a Bank Draft/
Bankers' Cheque for the required amount in favour of the Principal,
K.S.U.B. College, Bhanjanagar payable at SBI/ I.O.B./Andhra Bank or
any Nationalised Bank at Bhanjanagar, Two pass port size photographs
duly attested at their back, and a self addressed envelope of the
size 30 x 12 cm affixed with postage stamp worth Rs.32/- (Rs.Thirty
Two only) by Registered Post only, so as to reach the Principal by
the prescribed date. The candidate should write his/her name on the
back of D.D. Documents shall not be received by name or by any other
service except Registered Post. They should superscribe on the cover
of the envelop "Admission into +2/+3 1st/2nd/3rd year
Arts/Science/Commerce (Write what is applicable). Documents reaching
after the given date shall not be considered & he/she forfeits the
claim for a seat.
5. After admission, the original certificates/Mark Sheet shall be
returned to the candidate by Registered post.
6. Waiting list candidates shall be considered for admission after
exhausting the Merit list candidates, if seats remain vacant.
Submission of documents by the waiting list candidates is voluntary
and at their own risk. The college does not guarantee admission to
waiting list candidates. If seats are not vacant, the documents
alongwith B.D. shall be returned to the waiting list candidates by
Registered post.
C. RESERVATION OF SEATS
1. 8% and 12% of total seats are reserved for SC & ST candidate
respectively. Such applicants should send the attested copies of the
Caste/Tribe certificates issued by the competent authority
(Collector/Tahasildar of the area).
2. 1% of total seats are reserved for children of Ex-servicemen.
They should submit the attested copy of the ex-servicemen
certificate issued by the Rajya Sainik Board.
3. 2% of seats are reserved for the children of Burma Repatriate.
The attested copy of a certificate to this effect from the District
Collector should be submitted.
4. 4% of seats are reserved for the Children/wife husband of the
Govt. serving personnel Defence service personnel on Transfer within
the normal time of admission.
D. ADDITIONAL WEIGHTAGE
i) 2% of seats in each class are reserved for the handicapped
orthopedically / physically (deaf, dumb and blind). Further they
/will be given a weightage of an additional 5% of the aggregate
(marks secured by them in the qualifying examination. A certificate
from the CDMO concerned to the effect that the applicant has a major
orthopaedic/physical handicap (more than 50% disability}
ii) Women applicants who apply for subjects not available in the
Local Women's college will be given a weightage of 5% marks.
iii) Additional weightage of 5% and 10% of marks are given to NCC
cadets over and above the aggregate marks secured by the applicant
at the qualifying examination.
a) Certificate' A' - 5%
b) Certificate 'B' - 10%
iv) Additional weightage of 10% and 5% of marks are given to
President's Scouts/ Guides and Rajya Puraskar awareness over and
above the marks secured at the qualifying examination.
v) Applicants who have represented the State at the All India Level
NCC activities will be given a weightage of additional 5% marks over
and above the aggregate marks obtained by them.
vi) Representing University/State/Country level sports - 15%
weightage shall be given, if represented within two years time prior
to the year of admission.
vii) NSS
(a) Volunteers
who represented the country in NSS at international level-Direct
admission.
(b) NSS volunteer (s) who have received National award weightage
shall be given 7% marks.
(c) NSS volunteer(s) who have received State NSS award weightage
shall be given 5% marks.
viii) Candidates belonging to the children of repartriates - 5%
weightage shall be given. ( on production of Certificate from
District Magistrate) .
E. CRITERIA FOR HONOURS
SELECTION
i) There is no reservation of seats for Honours subjects.
ii) Selection of Honours shall be made after the last date of Annual
admission is over as per the preference given by the students in the
admission form.
iii) A student securing minimum 40% of marks in the concerned
subject and 40% marks in the aggregate is only eligible to apply for
Honours subject.
iv) In case of all subjects of Honours selection, the merit list
shall be prepared taking into account the subject marks and the
aggregate marks without extra optional subject together / except the
following subject, for which specific rules have been followed :
a) Students passing +2 Arts/Science/Commerce and offering Honours in
Arts/Commerce faculty in such subjects which was not a combination
in +2 Examination, his/her subject mark would be the English mark,
where minimum 40% marks should be secured and then the same mark is
to be added to the aggregate mark without extra optional to obtain
the Honours merit mark and to be filled in the regular honours merit
list accordingly.
b) For Physics Hons.
For physics Hons. the subject marks, the Mathematics mark and
the MPC aggregate marks, without E.O.M. shall be taken together for
drawing the merit list.
c) For Botany/Zoology Hons.
The marks secured in Biology should be added to BPC aggregate marks
without extra optional for drawing the merit list.
d) For Oriya Hons.
In case of a student who does not have Oriya as an optional subject
in +2 stage, the marks secured in M.I.L. (Oriya) will be added to
the aggregate marks without E.O.M.
e) In no case Honours shall be allotted to a student in +3 Il yr.
and / +3 III yr. class, even if seats are lying vacant except on
transfer basis.
f) In all matters relating to the admission the decision of the
Principal shall be final.
g) If necessary, the authority may conduct entrance examination for
honours selection in different subjects.

H. IDENTITY CARD
a) After admission. each and every fresh student is
provided with an Identity card with the seal and signature of the
Principal.
b) Students are advised to carry their valid Identity card with them
and produce whenever necessary such as during journey/
examination/college election/official work.
c) Duplicate Identity card may be issued on payment of Rs. 40/-
along with an application to the Principal and a copy of recent
passport size photograph.
I.A student shall be
eligible to retain his studentship in the 2nd/3rd year of +2 and +3
only after he/she deposits the sessional charges by the date
notified soon after the reopening of the college. Only after he /she
deposits the same his/her name shall be entered in the Attendance
Register and he/she shall be allowed to sit in the class.
J. Section:
Students with odd Roll
Nos are placed in Section-A and those with even Roll No.'s are
placed in Section-B.
K. Change of Subject / Group / Faculty
In exceptional cases the Principal may allow a student for such
change only within two weeks of closure of admission on payment of
requisite fees, provided seats are available in those
/subjects/groups/faculty.
4.
AFFILIATION & COURSES OF STUDIES
The college is affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary
Education (CHSE) Orissa for Higher Secondary or +2 course and to
Berhampur University (BU) for three year-Degree Course or +3 Course.
